Alberta harness racing trainer Kelly Crump went three-for-three with a trio of Magician offspring at Century Downs on Saturday (Jun. 11).
Blue Star Mystic wired the second race field for Crump and driver David Kelly in 1:54.4. Kyle Crump owns the four-year-old mare.
Salary won her second in a row in the next dash by slingshotting three-wide to the front on the final turn. Logan Gillis steered the sophomore filly to the 1:56.4 win for Crump and owner Shelley Hastey.
Crumpās triple was completed in the sixth race as Firenado opened up by three lengths after completing a second-quarter brush and won in 1:55. Stephen Crump owns and bred the four-year-old gelding. Nathan Sobey was in the bike for the win.
The trainer is having an excellent start to the season with 17 tallies in 87 starts so far.
A Fillies and Mares Open features on the next Century Downs card, which is set for Tuesday, Jun. 14. The action will begin at 2:15 p.m. MDT.
