MONTICELLO, N.Y.— Andrew Adamczyk capitalized off a pocket ride with 1-5 favorite Buzz (Kadabra) to take the $7,500 North American Amateur Drivers Association (NAADA) Trot at Monticello Raceway on Wednesday (Oct. 16).
Leaving from post 4, Adamczyk settled Buzz behind Raceace (driven by Alan Schwartz), who pushed from the pylon post for the lead to a :29.4 first quarter. Raceace continued unfettered on the point to a 1:01.3 half and remained relaxed despite a mild first-over bid from Fair Glider (Robert Ciavardini) moving to three-quarters in 1:32.
Buzz kept interest from the pocket through the tepid tempo and laid siege on Raceace spinning for home to successfully overhaul the tempo-setter and pull away to a 1-1/2-length win in 2:02.2.
Raceace settled for second with Fair Glider taking third and Mufasa As (McKenzie Sowers) riding a pylon trip for fourth.
