CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Adkins Hanover was determined to repeat in the Saturday afternoon harness racing preferred pace at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park and did just that.
Corey MacPherson steered the Trevor Hicken trainee to a 1:56 front-end score for owner Perry Burke of Grosse-Ile., Que. The $2,400 event saw race-favorite Rose Run Quest (Driven by Marc Campbell) finish second with Forever Paradise (Ken Murphy) third.
Holy Molie Maggie won the $1,700 Open trot in 2:01.1 for driver Kenny Arsenault and trainer Jeff Holmes of Orwell, who co-owns the mare with Trevor MacDonald of Vernon Bridge. Arsenault and Holmes reunited later in the program to win the $2,250 Open Mares pace with Itsallabouthebass in 1:57. Holmes and MacDonald also share ownership of the daughter of Yankee Cruiser, along with MacDonald of Vernon Bridge and Leonard Doyle of Vernon River. Arsenault scored a third win on the card with Frill Seeker from his own stable with a mile time of 2:03.
Driver Steven Shepherd and trainer Todd Weatherbee teamed up for a memorable afternoon with the combination winning both their races. Czar Seelster scored a 1:57 victory after being sent first over in the $2,100 class by Shepherd. Western Rocker converted a two-hole ride to a 15-1 upset in the race 14 finale for a $1,400 purse for Shepherd and Weatherbee in a mile time of 1:58.4. Both horses are owned by Tammy Johnston of Stratford.

Allstar Seelster Dominates Red Shores Summerside Feature Sunday; Big Day for Murphy
Allstar Seelster was upset bound in the Sunday afternoon featured pace at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.
The Ed Harvey owned and trained pacer was sent to front at 6-1 odds in the $2,100 top event by driver Norris Rogers as he laid down fractions of 28.2, 58 and 1:27.1 without a legitimate challenge at any point in the mile. Allstar Seelster closed out the mile by a five-length margin in 1:57 with the pocket sitting Heart And Soul (Driven by Walter Cheverie) finishing second and J Rs Hurricane (Adam Merner) completing the $272.30 triactor.
Machinthesand captured the the back-up pace as one of four winners on the day for driver Ken Murphy. Murphy pointed the son of Mach Three to the lead and never looked back en route to a 1:57.3 victory for Summerside owners Noonan Holdings and Russell and Karen Noonan. The $1,800 event saw Artist List (Merner) finish second and Toad River (MacPherson) third. Murphy's other wins were with Shouldabeenaclown in 2:00.4 for Edgar Stewart of Ellerslie, Alberta Sky in 1:58.3 for trainer Eric Doucette of South Rustico and with Windsun Kenda in a 1:58.3 score for trainer Eddy Doucette of Kensington.
