Adore Him blasted to the front at Clinton Raceway on Sunday and overcame post seven for the second consecutive week as he sailed to a Preferred 3 harness racing victory.
Travis Henry vigorously urged Adore Him as the starting car pulled away, and the horse sped to the front on the outside entering the first turn. Adore Him was responsible for fractions of :29, :58.3: and 1:28.2 on the front end with no opposition before cruising home to two-and-a-quarter-length 1:57.3 score.
Larjon Lucky (Tyler Moore) finished second after inheriting the pocket early. Notetoself Hanover (Natasha Day) was third. The bettors were fond of the winner, who paid $4.50.
Adore Him has won both of his starts since Ontario racing reopened in June. The nine-year-old Shadow Play gelding boasts 36 wins in 125 career starts and $208,906 in earnings. Curt Blake trains the horse for Robert Blake, a Clinton local.
Henry collected two more wins during the afternoon: one in the third with Come On Over (2:00.1) and another in the seventh with Maximus Power (1:57.2).
Clinton Racewayās next race date is Sunday, Jun. 27.
