SUMMERSIDE, PE – The Fox Group Island Trot Challenge continues Tuesday evening (Sep. 19) with a leg at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.
The Prince County harness racing track has a 13-dash presentation starting at 6 P.M., with the $5,300 Fox Group Island Trot Challenge leg in race 8.
Alcina (Muscle Mass) is the top choice from post 5 with Ken Murphy in the seat for trainer Jeff Holmes and owner Hardcore Racing of Belfast. The four-year-old was a winner her last start in a leg of the Island Oceans Trot Mares Series scoring in 1:57.3. Incredible Two (To be driven by Kenny Arsenault) is another top contender from post 3 along with post 2 starter Labero (David Dowling).
The Backstretch Beat likes Alcina on top of the six-horse field.
“Alcina has been excellent since joining Team Holmes with three wins and two seconds. The Holmes stable has been red hot all season and this mare is getting even better every week so we think she overcomes the biggest test she’s seen on the Eastern Seaboard and gets it all.”
Harlequin Romance (Taylor Doyle) is favoured in the race 1 Kirk Bulger Memorial from the James Barlow stable.
Elory Shiner has won five of his last seven starts from the Holmes barn with Brady Sweet in the seat in the race 3 Humans Of Harness Racing pace.
The City Of Summerside Pace takes to the track in race 7 with Southfield Sandy the 5-2 morning line favourite after a pair of runner-up finishes in his last two starts. Dowling trains and drives the son of Western Paradise.
Parole Violation (Dowling) is the top choice in the race 9 Ivan & Isabelle Cameron Memorial. Mike Dowling handles the training duties of the post 5 entry.
The Bob MacInnis Memorial is in race 10 and Rock The Baby (Dowling) is the favourite for trainer Earl Watts,
