There will be no harness racing in Canada on Friday (Jan. 12) as all three tracks scheduled to race have canceled their programs.
Woodbine Mohawk Park and The Raceway at the Western Fair District scrapped their cards due to a snowstorm and heavy winds forecast for Southern Ontario. Woodbine Mohawk Park said in its release that “the cancellation of Fridayās card was made in the best interest of all racing participants, staff and fans.” Both announced the decision shortly after noon.
Century Mile in Edmonton, Alta. announced its cancellation of its Friday and Saturday cards on Thursday due to the extreme cold forecast in the area.
Woodbine Mohawk Park is set to race next on Saturday. The Raceway will continue action on Monday, and Century Mile is scheduled to resume on Jan. 19.
