All Gas No Brakes (Uncle Peter) roared past five harness racing rivals in the last eighth of a mile to take the conditioned feature on Monday (Jan. 20) at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
The gelding sat third through :29 and :58.4 fractions set by Franks Angel (Bob McClure) through the first half but was kept on the pylons by driver Tyler Borth entering the final turn. He was shuffled to sixth at three-quarters in 1:27.3 and was boxed in at the top of the lane. Borth found him a gap in deep-stretch, and the gelding charged through with a head of steam, edging out the closing Patriarch Hanover (Doug McNair) to upset at 14-1. Patriarch Hanover was second by a head with Crystal Baller (Tyler Jones) third.
