The Ontario Sires Stakes harness racing season came to a close on Saturday (Oct. 15) at Woodbine Mohawk Park with eight $225,000 divisions of the Gold Super Finals.

Race 9 ā Three-year-old pacing colts and geldingsĀ
Cold Creek Queso (Betterthancheddar, Sylvain Filion) bettered his Grassroots championship as a two-year-old with a five-and-a-quarter-length romp in 1:50.
Betterhavemymoney (Scott Zeron) flew late to nip Ron (Phil Hudon) for second.
COLD CREEK QUESO REPLAY
Murray Brethour trains the winner for Cold Creek Standardbred. It was the seventh win in 22 career starts for the gelding, who has now earned $283,664.
Race 8 ā Two-year-old pacing colts and geldings
Metro Pace winner Stockade Seelster (State Treasurer, Jody Jamieson) delivered as expected based on his 1/5 billing with a two-length victory in 1:50.1 the eighth.
Santana Hanover (Bob McClure) was second-best. Sounds Good (Scott Zeron) finished third.
STOCKADE SEELSTER REPLAYĀ
Stockade Seelster has won nine of his 10 starts to date, with his only loss in the Metro elimination. The Ian Moore-trained colt has now earned $855,100 for Sally and Paul MacDonald.
Race 7 ā Three-year-old trotting colts and geldings
Safe Conduct (Archangel, Chris Christoforou) rolled late to score a 10-1 upset in 1:53.3. Longshot Sea Can (Scott Young) flew home to take place.
Twin B Archie (James MacDonald) finished third.
SAFE CONDUCT REPLAY
Safe Conduct has won five times and earned $300,200 in 19 tries. Camilla Christoforou trains the gelding for owners Charalambos Christoforou and Irvann Holdings.
Race 5 ā Three-year-old pacing fillies
Silver Label (Bettors Delight, Doug McNair) defeated Nick Gallucci-trained stablemate Prohibition Legal (James MacDonald) by two lengths in 1:50.2.
Prohibition Legal was a step quicker than Got The Gold (Sylvain Filion) to the line to hold second.
SILVER LABEL REPLAY
Silver Label has raked in $772,924 and won 12 times across 20 career starts. She is a homebred for Millar Farms.
Race 4 ā Two-year-old pacing fillies
Cheesy Smile (Betterthancheddar, Bob McClure) motored off cover to capture the fourth by a length-and-a-half in 1:51.1 over Big Big Plans (Trevor Henry).
Freshen Up (Doug McNair) was third.
CHEESY SMILE REPLAY
The filly has won five of her 10 career starts. The victory swelled her bankroll to $315,947. John Pentland takes the training duties for the partnership of himself, Cindy Molyneux, Peter Charlton, and Archie London. The 1:51.1 clocking was a new mark for the filly.
Race 3 ā Three-year-old trotting fillies
Mischievous Rose (Muscle Mass, Louis-Philippe Roy) stunned millionaire Adare Castle (James MacDonald) in a late-closing victory to capture the third in 1:54. Adare Castle was beaten a half-length.
Baby Longstocking (Doug McNair) was third across.
MISCHIEVOUS ROSE REPLAY
Mischievous Rose is four-for-22. She won only one prior race ā an overnight ā this year but had 10 total top-three finishes. Luc Blais conditions the filly, whose earnings now total $422,457, for Determination.
Race 2 ā Two-year-old trotting colts and geldings
Dws Pointman (My Mvp, Louis-Philippe Roy) eliminated Snowpiercerās (Paul MacDonell) mid-stretch lead, nailing that rival on the line to win the second in 1:55.1.
Deadline Hall (Chris Christoforou) got up in a similar finish for third.
DWS POINTMAN REPLAY
It was Dws Pointmanās fifth win in 10 starts to date. He won two Ontario Sires Stakes Golds in succession after moving to Mohawk from New York for new connections. He has earned $245,384 and finished eighth in the Mohawk Million. Richard Moreau trains the gelding for Ecurie CSL and a numbered Quebec company.
Race 1 ā Two-year-old trotting fillies
Righteous Resolve (Resolve), driven by Paul MacDonell, capped off her exceptional OSS season with a dominant 1:54.4 victory.
Mass Hysteria (Trevor Henry) finished two-and-a-half lengths back in second. Its Your Choice (James MacDonald) was third.
RIGHTEOUS RESOLVE REPLAY
Righteous Resolve is now eight-for-nine, her only loss in the OSS Gold opener. She has earned $536,224 for owner/breeders Bet Max Stables and Benenati Inc. John Bax trains the filly.
