SUMMERSIDE, PE – Corey MacPherson made the most of his catch driving call aboard Alldawaytocardigan (Tobago Cays) lighting up the harness racing tote board to win Sunday afternoon (May 29) at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway in the P.E.I. Colt Stakes.

MacPherson sat second in his $11,200 P.E.I. Colt Stakes Gold division for three-year-old pacing colts and stalked race favourite Fern Hill General (Brodie MacPhee). Alldawaytocardigan lunged in the final strides to win in the stretch in 1:56.2 at 13-1 odds for owner Jackie Heffernan of Summerville and trainer Myles Heffernan Jr.
The other $11,200 Gold division for colts was claimed by Middleton Terror (Stonebridge Terror) in a 4-1 upset in 1:56.1 for driver David Dowling, trainer Donnie MacNeill and owners Kingsley Walsh, Frank Balcom and Sam Walsh.
The $5,600 Grassroots divisions for colts saw a win by Mitch (Stonebridge Terror, driven by Gilles Barrieau) in 1:58.3 along with a driving triple for Marc Campbell in the other divisions with Tory Time in 1:59.1, Kharlamov (Shadow Play) in 1:58.3 and Elm Grove Qwiggly (Rollwithitharry) in 1:58.2.
Therealprincess (Source Of Pride) and driver MacPherson won the fastest $12,200 P.E.I. Colt Stakes Gold division for fillies from the Ed Doucette barn for co-owners Doucette, Grant Mann, Blaine Thibeau and Gordon MacLeod stopping the clock in 1:55.4.
Driver Barrieau and Kevin MacLean teamed up for two stakes win with Woodmere Jazz (Rollwithitharry) in 1:57.4 in a Gold division and Tobins Diva (Varadero Hanover) in 1:57 in a $6,100 Grassroots split, both for owner Reg MacPherson of Stratford.
The other $6,100 grassroots filly splits were claimed by Orrsterror (Stonebridge Terror, driven by Barrieau) in 1:59.1 and Cantstopthelovin (Malicious, driven by Dowling) in a 1:58.3 maiden score.
Live racing continues Thursday and Saturday at Red Shores Charlottetown and Friday evening at Red Shores Summerside, with 6:30 P.M. opening post times for all programs.
