American Risk kept his crown at Truro Raceway for another week as he won the Winners Over Pace for the third time running on Friday (May 21).
For the first time this season, the son of American Ideal followed a helmet. Andrew Campbell guided the gelding into the pocket after a wide charge into the first turn, and they followed Rusty Riley (Paul Langille) through :27.2, :56.4, and 1:26.4 panels. Campbell tipped American Risk wide as they swung for home, and the gelding battled clear of Rusty Riley to stay perfect on the season in a 1:57.1 score.
Rusty Rileyās margin of defeat was a length and three-quarters. Johnnywalkerdelux (Emmons Mackay) rallied from last to pick up the show cheque.
The winner returned $3.30.
