Amigo Volo (Father Patrick) avenged his previous defeat to Safe Conduct as he dominated his harness racing rivals in the $36,000 Preferred Trot at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Monday (Dec. 16).

The gelding struck first from post six, soaring to the lead for James MacDonald with :28 speed to the quarter on a wet surface. He held command through middle fractions of :58.2 and 1:26.4, handily neutralizing the first-over advance of Franks Angel (Bob McClure). Amigo Volo then kicked away with a :27.4 final quarter, leaving behind Safe Conduct as he strode away to a four-length victory in 1:54.3. Safe Conduct held the place spot, followed by New Rules (Trevor Henry).
