“Dominant” would be an understatement for Angel Of My Dreams’s (Archangel) harness racing victory in the Ontario-sired Autumn Series final for trotting fillies at The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Friday (Oct. 22).
The sophomore filly took a quick lead and rebuffed the keen Miss Tory (Bruce Richardson) while cutting quarter-mile time of :29.2. Miss Tory found no room at the pylons and drove on, only to quickly see the back of Angel Of My Dreams again when Travis Henry commanded that filly back to the front.
Angel Of My Dreams hit the half in 1:00.3 and began extending her cushion on the backstretch. She was four-and-a-half lengths clear at three-quarters in 1:31 and left her opponents behind as she steamed away by 14-and-three-quarters and completed the mile in 2:01.4.
Deity Seelster (Ondrej Gois) beat out Miss Tory for second.
ANGEL OF MY DREAMS
Angel Of My Dreams won both previous legs of the Autumn Series. Her sweep of the event makes up her first three career wins to date in seven tries. She debuted this year for trainer Riley Thomas. The filly has earned $22,350 for owners Donald Mitchell and Douglas Elen of Georgetown.
The pacing fillies and trotting colts will contest their Autumn Series finals on Oct. 23 at Flamboro Downs. The pacing colts will clash two days later at The Raceway.
One card is scheduled prior to that in London. The track will resume racing on Monday, Oct. 24.
