Angeliki (Muscle Up The Goal), two starts after winning the Pop-Up Series, took the $45,400 Ontario-sired Harvest Series Final for three-year-old harness racing trotting fillies on Monday (Nov. 27) at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

Angeliki wins the Harvest Series Final

Bob McClure put the filly on the front from post six, then allowed Cunning Connie (Tyler Jones) to take over before the quarter in :29. Angeliki resided in the pocket through the half in :58.4 and to three-quarters in 1:28 as Lucy Who (Sylvain Filion) advanced first-up on the leader.

Lucy Who overcame Cunning Connie in mid-stretch, but Angeliki also began to motor at that point as the rail opened up. Angeliki hit top gear in the final eighth of a mile and roared past Lucy Who to take the Harvest Series Final in 1:57.4.

Lucy Who finished second, a length ahead of Cunning Connie.

ANGELIKI REPLAY

The two series final victories are the filly’s only wins in 10 starts this year. The Mark Etsell trainee is five-for-17 lifetime with $82,140 in earnings. Link Standardbred of Vaughan owns the sophomore.

Also on the card, Hp Mama B (Royalty For Life, Louis-Philippe Roy) won in her second start off her post-Breeders Crown break in the $32,000 Preferred-2 against male opponents. The mare pushed to the front in the second quarter and held on by three-quarters-of-a-length over Oney Hall (James MacDonald). Pemberton (Trevor Henry) was third.

HP MAMA B REPLAY

Hp Mama B is now 21-for-71 lifetime and has raked in $783,803 in earnings. Benoit Baillargeon of Guelph owns, trains, and bred the five-year-old. The mare’s Monday win was her fifth of the season.

Woodbine Mohawk Park’s next card is set for Thursday, Nov. 30 at 7:10 p.m. EST.
