Ario Hanover (Captaintreacherous) stayed perfect through his fourth start of the year in a last-to-first harness racing victory at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Saturday (Feb. 11).
The four-year-old stallion, who won in his first start for new connections last week, raced last through the first half for James MacDonald then rallied from fifth turning for home to win going away by three lengths in 1:50.1. He vaulted past Southbeach Hanover (Louis-Philippe Roy), who was on top for much of the mile and finished second. Points North (Scott Young) was next home in third.
ARIO HANOVER REPLAY
The win was two-fifths off Ario Hanoverās previous best. The four-year-old has won eight of his 24 career starts and all four in 2023. He raced for Ron Burke until mid-January, when he went to Richard Moreau for new owner 1876472 Ontario Inc. The stallion has earned $146,437 in his lifetime.
MacDonald and Doug McNair traded driving triples on the card.
The next card at Woodbine Mohawk Park is set for Monday, Feb. 13 with a 7:00 p.m. EST first post.
