Armycaptain Hanover (Captaintreacherous) won his third Open Pace in a row at Fraser Downs on Wednesday (Oct. 13) and approaches 100 career harness racing starts with a 30 per cent strike rate.
The gelding had to go the long way this time. He was stuck on the outside for the opening quarter of :27 before ducking in third. Tiempo Hanover (Brandon Campbell) took the field to the half in :56.4, and Kelly Hoerdt mobilized Armycaptin Hanover as they neared three-quarters in 1:24.2.
Tiempo Hanover fought gamely, but Armycaptin Hanover proved unstoppable as he marched around the final turn and eclipsed that rival in mid-stretch and scored in 1:52.3.
Tiempo Hanover was second by three-quarters of a length. Mach Steady (John Abbott) finished third after a pocket trip.
