Harness racing trainer Carmen Auciello made the most of a card that was cancelled early, winning three of seven races on Monday (Jan. 27) at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
He and resurgent reinsman J.R. Plante took the first with Hestonator (Heston Blue Chip) as the gelding rallied from third-over and held off the tough Double Down Duke (Billy Davis Jr.) by a half-length for a 2:00.2 victory. It was the five-year-oldās first win of the season after two straight place finishes.
HESTONATOR REPLAY
Jonathan Drury then gave the Auciello-trained Mister Magic (Kadabra) a pocket ride en route to a dominant victory in the third. The 10-year-old gelding shifted out on the final turn and stroke five-and-three-quarter lengths clear to win in 2:00.2. He is now 37-for-147 lifetime.
MISTER MAGIC REPLAY
Radio Lab (Crazed, Davis) completed the triple for Auciello in the fifth, hunting down Robertson De (Brett MacDonald) from the pocket and drawing away by three-and-a-quarter lengths for the 1:58.2 victory. The six-year-old is three-for-four this term.
RADIO LAB REPLAY
Auciello has taken nine wins in 85 starts in 2025. The trainer, now in his 22nd season, has compiled career totals of 2,146 wins and $34.6 million in earnings in 19,069 starts.
Races eight through 12 were cancelled by track officials due to unsafe track conditions.
Woodbine Mohawk Park will host its next card on Thursday, Jan. 30, beginning at 6:30 p.m. EST.
