Rock And Twist (Sunshine Beach) won the first leg of the claiming Pop-up Series at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Monday (Jan. 30) to extend his streak to three in a step up from Flamboro Downs harness racing company.

The Richard Moreau trainee, sent away at 15-1, pitched camp in the three-hole for Sylvain Filion through :28.2, :56.3, and 1:24.3 splits. After dropping back in the third quarter, he closed the gap and slid out behind pocket-sitter Private Scott (Jonathan Drury). Rock And Twist found his best stride in the last 1/16th of a mile and sprinted clear for the victory in 1:53.3. Mach Art In Motion (Louis-Philippe Roy) kicked in late despite being parked the mile and got up for second in a big effort. Private Scott finished third.
