A pair of betting longshots overcame the odds and found their way into the winner’s circle to start the Saturday (Mar. 2) card. In the first race, Warrawee Yoko (Sportswriter) found the pocket behind Perfect Mia but decided to take the lead before the field could hit the backstretch. As Warrawee Yoko was overtaking the lead, the favourite Mulligan Philly was having trouble staying flat. Warrawee Yoko paced fractions of 29.2, 1:00.3 and 1:29.2. The four-year-old mare went virtually unchallenged and won in 1:58. Warrawee Yoko closed at 11-1 odds at post time. Ryan Desroche was in the sulky for trainer Shawn Steacy.

The seven-year-old mare, Watch Me Dance (Ameripan Gigolo) earned her way to the podium at 15-1 odds in the second. She found space sitting in sixth as the gates swung open. Gypsy Merlot jumped to the front of the pack and opened the race with a 28.2 first quarter. The field held their position until they reached the half-mile station. A few horses decided to test their luck in the outer flow which opened up space for Watch Me Dance. She slowly moved up the inside until the three-quarter-mark when she was forced to move four-wide. She was full steam ahead and charged by the field to win in 1:58.4. The Warrawee Yoko with Watch Me Dance Daily Double was $965.70 based on a $2 wager
