Century Mach (Jk Royal Flush) repeated in the Fillies and Mares Preferred at Fraser Downs on Thursday (Nov. 9) with her second straight wire-to-wire harness racing performance.
Scott Knight replicated her trainerās tactics from the prior week, sending her to the front in a shortened field of four. She paced the quarter in :27.4, and her rivals remained in line as she cruised to the half in :57.4.
Hottieonthehorizon (Jeff Hunt) blinked first and went first-over on the backstretch, and Century Mach quickened the tempo racing towards three-quarters in 1:26.1. Century Mach had put the challenger away on the homeward turn, and she allowed no advance from pocket-rider Pirate Booty (Terry Kaufman) as she came home a winner in 1:55.1.
Pirate Booty secured second over the gaining Grey Sea (John Abbott).
CENTURY MACH REPLAY
Century Mach now has seven wins on the season and 26 lifetime. She races at or around the Preferred level for owner/trainer Kelly Hoerdt. The five-year-old mare has accrued $181,648 in career earnings from 90 starts.
Knightās win with Century Mach gave him a double, and he followed it up two more victories for a grand slam on the nine-race program.
Fraser Downs will conclude its race week on Friday, Nov. 10 with an eight-race slate starting at 7:00 PST.
