A bad accident in the seventh race at Woodbine Mohawk Park Friday evening saw almost all of the harness racing horses interfered with going to the half mile and the judges declared the race no contest and all wagers were to be refunded.
The pacers had just past the opening quarter mile when Sylvain Filion came first-over with #1 Belina and right before the horse collared the race leader, stumbled, causing #3 Bluemea Kiss (Nicholas Boyd) to run up on them.
Bluemea Kiss fell to the track, ejecting Boyd onto the track. Behind them was Bob McClure driving State Of Mind and they both fell to the track and they were run over by Witnessintheshadow (Doug McNair) and they fell to the track, scattering the rest of the field.
Bob McClure went to the hospital to have his arm checked out. Doug McNair booked off the rest of his drives.
Sadly, Witnessintheshadow was euthanized. All other horses escaped serious injury and walked off the track.
