Stonebridge Jade (Bettors Delight) moved up to the Preferred ranks in her first start for Stuart Boschman on Thursday (May 2) at Fraser Downs and landed a 10-1 harness racing upset.
Allan Molloy pushed the mare to the front early, and she paced the opening half in splits of :27.2 and :58.1 before In High Cotton, riding a four-race win streak, emerged with a first-over challenge.
The leader held a length-and-a-half edge through three-quarters in 1:26.1 and around the final turn as she and In High Cotton went toe-to-toe. Stonebridge Jade edged away coming off the bend, and that proved more than enough to secure the victory, reaching home up by a length-and-three-quarters in 1:54.3.
In High Cotton was a game second. B On The Hunt (Scott Knight) finished third.
