It was like Deja-vu on Friday night (Aug. 9) at Connell Park in Woodstock as New Brunswick Hall of Fame harness racing driver-trainer Gilles Barrieau scored six winners on the nine-dash card.
For the second straight card, Barrieau dominated the New Brunswick Breeders stakes, this time for two-year old pacing colts.
He won both $15,000 division with Like A King (Arthur Blue Chip) for owner Jenn Ritchie of Kingston, New Brunswick in 2:04.3 and with My Happy Place (Shadow Play) in 2:06.2 for owner Patrick Morris and trainer Ron Matheson.
Barrieau also scored wins with P J Spudland, Bay Bries, Ninoscredit and Windemereimalright.
The next major event is the Barrieau-McIasac stake for three-year-old pacers in which the final will be the richest race ever contested at Connell Park in Woodstock.
