CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Driver Gilles Barrieau has built a career on ground saving journeys and the Thursday evening (Oct. 6) harness racing feature was no exception as he notched career win number 4,998 at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The Jeff Lilley trained Ubettimagoodone (Image Of Dawn) sat the pocket in the race 9 featured pace for a $2,850 purse in line to Gilles Barrieau and took the garden trip to a 1:56.4 neck decision.
Pacesetter Elm Grove Mistress (Driven by David Dowling) was second while race favourite Filly Forty Seven (Marc Campbell) was third.
Lilley co-owns the winning mare with Marc Gallant, Blair MacLauchlan and Knox Pavlatos.

Barrieau also won earlier on the card with Labero (Kadabra) in a 2:00.4 trot race for win number 4,997 for the New Brunswick driver from the Randy Van Meer stable.
Campbell had a driving quadruple winning with Maggiesdelight (1:56.4) for trainer Michelle Myers, Magical Cowgirl (1:57.4) for Stanley Harper, Steelmeatreasure (1:57.1) from the Colin Johnson barn and Plain Jane (1:57.2) from his own Orwell stable.
The PEI Matinee Finals were also held on the program. The Championship division A final was won by Bold N Bad (Badlands Hanover) and driver Brett Clow. Clow, who won the event in 2021, made it back to back championship scores for his mother Deanna Clow who owns the 7 year-old gelding.
That’s Mia Bad won the championship final division B for driver Zac Noye in 2:00.4. I t was Noye’s first season of driving and first appearance in the championship finals. The 8 year–old mare is owned by Mary Jean Noye and Tash MacKenzie.
