Bee Two Bee buzzed by his Preferred 3 harness racing foes in the final quarter for a 1:51.3 victory at Georgian Downs on Tuesday.
The stallion sat sixth as Ideal Jet (Nick Boyd) blazed through the opening quarter in :26.4. Coulter motioned Bee Two Bee to the outside behind Pedro Hanvover (Colin Kelly) as the leader slowed for a breather to the half in :56. Pedro Hanover cleared Ideal Jet after three-quarters in 1:24.2, but the former’s stint on top was short-lived as Bee Two Bee blew by at the head of the stretch and kicked away to a three-length win.
Pedro Hanover maintained second; Outlawgrabbingears (Paul Davies) nabbed the final spot on the board in a photo.
Bee Two Bee, a Craig Gilmour trainee, took his first win of the year at odds of 3/2. The four-year-old Sunshine Beach stallion is a nine-time winner on 43 starts, and he has amassed $95,201 in earnings. He was a fifth of a second off his lifetime mark, which was set at Woodbine Mohawk Park, on Tuesday. ICR Racing of Pefferlaw owns the horse, whom they also bred.
Jean Rene Plante continued his hot streak with three wins in five starts during the afternoon. The driverās UDRS is 0.403 so far this season, which would be the highest of his 22-year career if the year ended today.
Georgian Downs holds live racing again on Saturday, Jun. 26 with a first post of 7:15 p.m. EDT.
