Distant Lover (Betterthancheddar) doubled her career tally in a second straight Prospect Series harness racing victory on Wednesday (Aug. 30) at Grand River Raceway.

Jason Ryan had the filly on top throughout of the third-division leg 4B contest. Distant Lover cut :29.1, 1:00.2, and 1:29.3 fractions and sailed home to victory by three-and-a-half lengths in 1:59. Cheddar Crossing (Travis Henry) and Cheddar Shredder (Brett MacDonald) made it a Betterthancheddar-sired triactor.

DISTANT LOVER REPLAY

Distant Lover’s career earnings now total $8,700 after her wins in legs 4A and 4B. Nick Gallucci trains the filly for Millar Farms of Stouffville.

Love On Me (Stag Party) broke her maiden the first division in similar style, leading from start to finish in 2:00.3. Ryan Holliday steered her to victory over Cheddarisbetter (MacDonald) and Starzy (Daryl Thiessen).

LOVE ON ME REPLAY

Love On Me had made five prior starts without a victory but has earned $10,140. David Holliday trains and co-owns the filly with Ben Holliday of Mount Forest.

Allcheekiesoff (All Bets Off, Tyler Jones) defeated the second group, also from the front, in a photo finish. Ireland Seelster (Travis Henry) put him to the test down the stretch and missed by a head. Wheres My Phone (MacDonald) finished third.

ALLCHEEKIESOFF REPLAY

It was Allcheekiesoff’s first career win. The Dustin Jones-trained filly finished sixth on debut last time out. Dustin Jones Stables of Hamilton co-owns the filly with Andrea Lea Racing Stables of Lakefield Gore.

The next leg of the Prospect Series for two-year-old pacing fillies is set for Sep. 6 at Grand River Raceway.
