MILTON, July 11, 2023 – Bettor Sisters (Bettors Delight) won the second race tonight (Jul. 11) at Woodbine Mohawk Park, a $100,400 Ontario Sires Stakes (OSS) Gold harness racing division for two-year-old pacing fillies.
Jody Jamieson kept Bettor Sisters off the pace set by leader Century Kalimba (Sportswriter) and driver Travis Cullen, through fractions of 27.3, 56.3, and 1:24.4.
In the backstretch, Bettor Sisters overtook Century Kalimba, and This Magic Moment (Big Jim) driven by James MacDonald, challenged Century Kalimba in the battle for second.
But, Bettor Sisters proved too strong, crossing the wire first at 1:53.2.
“She was very impressive, I didn’t know if I was going to have to move her to the lead or how it was going to go but it worked out,” said Jamieson. “I got back to the lead pretty easily, and at the head of the stretch she just took off again.”
BETTOR SISTERS REPLAY
Trainer Daniel Lagace touched on Bettor Sisters win.
“She did everything right, she did it all easy, but I mean to beat these horses you have to be good,” said Lagace.
Lagace is co-owner with Big Als Stables.
Runner-up Century Kalimba is trained by Jodie Cullen and co-owned by John Collings, and Tommy Collings.
This Magic Moment is a half-sister to OSS star Prohibition Legal (Big Jim) and trained by Nick Gallucci.
The Big Jim filly is owned by Millar Farms.
Bettor Sisters Gold win paid $6.60.
For her first OSS win, Bettor Sisters collected $50,200 in earnings.
“It was pretty successful, and I was really happy with her,” says Jamieson.

Pass Line (All Bets Off) kept her perfect career record intact as she captured the $101,300 second division and became the fastest two-year-old filly of the year so far.
The filly popped the pocket on the backstretch and stormed by pacesetter Odds On Platinum (Tyler Moore) at the top of the stretch. She then resisted the late surge of Watching You (Scott Zeron) to win by three-quarters-of-a-length in 1:51.3. Coco Jo Jo finished third.
PASS LINE REPLAY
Pass Line, who won her first two career starts, is now unbeaten in three for trainer Dave Menary. The hombred has earned $66,500 for Burke Racing Stable of Fredericktown and Weaver Bruscemi of Canonsburg.
