Ontheroadtotexas (Sixdaysontheroad) was bigger than her harness racing opponents for the fifth straight week on Thursday (Apr. 6) at Fraser Downs by a huge margin with a lifetime best clocking.
The mare was a strung out fourth through the opening half, blitzed in fractions of :26.3 and :55 as Marilyn (Scott Knight) and Havinfuninthesun (Kelly Hoerdt) battled for the lead. Ontheroadtotexas caught the top three just past the midway point and swung three-wide around the fading Havinfuninthesun.
Ontheroadtotexas reached top gear and blew by the leading Marilyn, tired after the speed duel, as they reached three-quarters in 1:23.3. Brandon Campbell hurried the mare into mid-stretch, and she stormed away to score by eight lengths in 1:53.2.
Marilyn held onto second. Gin Is Better (John Chappell) finished third.
