Words Escape Me (Artspeak) gave his new owner a harness racing show on Monday (Jan. 30) at The Raceway at the Western Fair District, winning by eight-and-a-half lengths in his first start off the claim.
Garrett Rooney guided the gelding out of fourth as the field passed the stands to grab cover and then pulled the right line again as they entered the backstretch. Words Escape Me blew by the top two and waved goodbye. He extended his margin while tearing through the last quarter and stopped the clock in 2:00.3. Doc Houston (Scott Wray) was best of the rest. Fooling Yourself (Colin Kelly) held third after a first-over trip.

It was his first win of the season and third overall in 39 tries. Trainer Cassidy Schneider got the gelding to click for new owner Graham Kirby of Cookstown, who spent $8,750 on the four-year-old on Jan. 23.
Rooney was the eveningās top driver with three wins.
