Black Tie Bash (Chapter Seven) retained his throne as the top Rideau Carleton harness racing trotter as he made it two-for-two on the season in the track’s Preferred Handicap on Thursday (Jun. 1).
Facing just three opponents, Robert Shepherd moved him first up just past the half, and the gelding sparred with Raising Rusty (Stephane Pouliot) through three-quarters. Black Tie Bash eclipsed him as they entered the stretch and sailed two lengths clear to win in 1:55. Raising Rusty was a clear second. Getting Serious (Guy Gagnon) was well back in third.
