Black Tie Bash (Chapter Seven) is still perfect in 2023 following his third harness racing victory in the Preferred-Handicap Trot at Rideau Carleton Raceway on Wednesday (Jun. 8).
Driven by Robert Shepherd, the gelding tracked the cover of Never Mind N (Guy Gagnon) second-over, circled wide turning for home, and turned on the jets to pass pacesetter Donatover (Stephane Brosseau) to score in 1:55. Donatover finished second. Raising Rusty (Stephane Pouliot) was third.
Black Tie Bash is now unbeaten through three this season. He is 21-for-66 overall with a bankroll of $171,408. Shepherd owns and Isabelle Darveau trains the five-year-old gelding.
Racing will return to Rideau Carleton Raceway at 6:30 p.m. EDT on Sunday, Jun. 11.
