Black Tie Bash (Chapter Seven) upped his seasonal harness racing tally to seven in the Rideau Carleton Raceway top class as he captured the Preferred-Handicap Trot on Thursday (Aug. 24).
The gelding settled mid-pack early, then launched from third in the second quarter and made front quickly. Robert Shepherd managed the middle splits, and Black Tie Bash rolled home to a two-and-a-half-length 1:56 victory. Raising Rusty (Stephane Pouliot) was the only horse in the vicinity and a clear second-best. Crossfit (Marie-Claude Auger) finished third.
