Boo Yaya fastest in Atlantic Sire Stakes

SUMMERSIDE, PE – Kicking clear in the stretch drive, Boo Yaya became the fastest seasonal two-year-old performer in Atlantic Sires Stakes two-year-old pacing filly action Wednesday evening at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.

Marc Campbell supplied the winning steer as Boo Yaya dominated the stretch drive in her $16,020 Atlantic Sires Stakes A-division for rookie pacing filly.

The Robert MacLeod trained daughter of Stonebridge Terror stopped the clock in 1:58.4 by a four-length margin for Nova Scotia owners Hugh and Ali MacEachern.West River Glo (Driven by Clare MacDonald) finished second with pacesetter Cougar On A Terr (Don Gillis Jr.) third.

The other $16,020 A-split was claimed by Woodmere Jazz (Gilles Barrieau) in 1:59.2 over Kinda Like Royalty (Walter Cheverie) and JJ Scarlett (Gillis).Kevin MacLean trains the winning filly for owner Reg MacPherson of Stratford.

The $3,000 B-Divisions were won by JJ Linda (Cheverie) in 2:01.4 and Therealprincess (Corey MacPherson) in 2:01.

Legendary Ron (Jason Hughes) won the Gentleman’s Jim Pace in memory of Cam Cameron in a time of 1:58.1 for owner Doug Matheson of Cornwall.

Live racing continues Thursday evening at Red Shores Summerside with the two-year-old pacing colts in Atlantic Sires Stakes action.
