The book is full and closed for King Of The North (Walner) 3, 1:50.3s ($1,169,561), the 2021 Dan Patch 2-Year-Old Colt Trotter of the Year and 2022 Breeders Crown champion who is standing his first season at stud in 2023 for Kountry Lane Standardbreds at Tara Hills Stud in Port Perry, Ont.

A world champion by a world champion and from a world champion, King Of The North earned $578,915 in 2021, the most by any 2-year-old trotter that year. He won six of his 10 starts for trainer Ray Schnittker and driver Mark MacDonald and took a record of 1:52.4. His triumphs included the $505,600 William Wellwood Memorial, $293,450 Peter Haughton Memorial, and $200,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes final.

King Of The North won three of his last four starts this season before being retired, including the $600,000 Breeders Crown, where he took his lifetime mark of 1:50.3. That was the fastest mile ever by a 3-year-old male trotter in the history of the Breeders Crown. It was also the fastest Canadian mile ever by a colt and a Woodbine Mohawk Park track record. He also won the $200,000 Carl Erskine Memorial at Hoosier Park and his Breeders Crown elimination.
