Tyler Borth pulled back five wins on James MacDonald in the national harness racing drivers’ standings with another big night at The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Tuesday (Nov. 14).

Borth set the tone for the night with a wire-to-wire win in the opener. He piloted his regular mount Bucktober (Flanagan Memory) to the gelding’s 12th win of the year in 1:58.1. It was also a milestone for the four-year-old, who reached six digits in earnings with the victory.
BUCKTOBER REPLAY
In race four, I Loved Her First (Bettors Delight) soared home after sidestepping dead cover and going three-wide on the turn to take back-to-back wins for Borth. The three-year-old filly lowered her lifetime best clocking to 1:59.2 for trainer Mike Timpano in the performance.
I LOVED HER FIRST REPLAY
Borth secured a triple in the fifth with Im A Karen (Betterthancheddar), whom he sent to the lead in the second quarter and brought home to a maiden-breaking win in 2:01.1. The filly made six prior starts for trainer Paul Megens and finished third in the Ontario-sired Autumn Series Final.
IM A KAREN REPLAY
Borth’s grand slam came in the seventh as Rose Run Yolette (Hes Watching) hung on for her first win in 14 lifetime starts. The sophomore filly led all the way and stopped the clock in 2:01.3. She has now earned $9,650 for owner/trainer Richard Griffiths.
ROSE RUN YOLETTE REPLAY
The Raceway’s leading reinsman bookended the card with his fifth win of the night behind Muscles Aplenty (Angus Hall). He ordered the Joseph Hall-conditioned mare to the top, and she cut the mile in 2:01.2 in her first start off a 19-week layoff. The six-year-old resisted challengers in the stretch to win by a length.
MUSCLES APLENTY REPLAY
Borth’s quintuple brought him to 373 wins in 2023, four behind James MacDonald. The pair have been matching strides at the top of the national leaderboards for much of the season, and both have recently put up strong nights. Borth has already set personal records for starts, wins, and earnings, and is on pace to break 400 victories.
The Raceway at the Western Fair District will hold racing next on Friday, Nov. 17. The card will begin at 5:50 p.m. EST.
