After six straight winless days, harness racing driver Tyler Borth returned to form with five winners on the card at The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Tuesday (Nov. 28).

Drinkin Buddy (Your Nemesis) pulled Borth to the winner’s circle in the second race after shooting from third to first in the stretch. The stallion stopped the clock in 1:58.2 for trainer Heather Pickett, who co-owns her homebred with Rich Pickett. Drinkin Buddy, a four-year-old, is now eight-for-48 lifetime with $46,686 in earnings.

Borth made it a double with I Loved Her First (Bettors Delight), who won with a big late kick for the third start in a row. The sophomore filly, trained by Mike Timpano, is now six-for-10 in her rookie season. Wendy Timpano owns her with Seaspray Stables.

The driver was fourth in race four, then won three straight. He went wire-to-wire behind Bettors Victory (Bettors Delight), who stopped the teletimer in 1:57.2 as he held off the gaining Paparazzi Hanover (Nick Steward). Thee Desperado (Manofmanymissions) made it four for Borth in the sixth, flying home after gapping the pocket to prevail in by a head in a three-across finish 2:01. Docs Rock (Control The Moment) then completed the reinsman’s quintuple in the seventh as he streaked away to score by three-and-a-quarter lengths in 1:59.

Borth’s last winner of the night was his 1,700th lifetime, and it raised his seasonal total to 379. He now trails James MacDonald by 15 wins atop the national drivers’ standings but comfortably leads that of The Raceway.

Racing will resume at The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Friday, Dec. 1 at 5:50 p.m. EST.
