Bozak (Dancin Lou) put another one past his harness racing rivals with a second straight Prospect Series win in leg 5A for two-year-old pacing colts and geldings at Flamboro Downs on Tuesday (Sep. 17).
The gelding skated past rivals to take the lead from post four for Brett MacDonald and cut a :29.4 first quarter. He went to the half in :59.2 but was tested by Winchester Phoenix (Austin Sorrie) as they raced to three-quarters in 1:28.3 with the pair nose-to-nose at that point. Bozak pulled away by a length as they straightened for home and hung on over the still-closing Winchester Phoenix for a half-length victory in 1:57.3. Bobby Bone Breaker (Travis Henry) was third.
BOZAK REPLAY
Bozak is now three-for-nine in his rookie season. He has now won three straight after six winless outings to start his career. Brenda Lane trains the gelding, who has now earned $13,880, and shares ownership with Mark and Anthony Lane.
Silverwalls (Betterthancheddar) made his first career trip to the winnerās circle as he won the first division. The colt took over on the first trip past the stands for Scott Coulter, defended his lead from Five Star Lou (Travis Henry) on the backstretch, and repelled him to win by a length-and-a-half in 1:56.2.
Five Star Lou finished second with Babbling Billy (Samuel Fillion) completing the ticket.
SILVERWALLS REPLAY
Silverwalls made six starts before his first victory for owner Dale Hunter. Dennis Morrissey trains the colt, who has now earned $6,488.
It was the last preliminary leg of the Prospect Series for rookie pacing males. The finals are set for Sep. 27.
The next card at Flamboro Downs is set for Thursday, Sep. 19 at 6:35 p.m. EDT.
