SUMMERSIDE, PE – Brookdale Johnny (Rockin In Heaven) has helped trainer Phil Sizer put together a solid 2024 and the duo will try for more in the Tuesday evening featured harness racing pace at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.
The 11-dash Tuesday presentation starts at 6 P.M., with the $3,300 featured pace lining up in race 10.
Paul Langille will drive the Sizer trained Brookdale Johnny for owners Doug Polley Sr., and Doug Polley Jr., of Amherst, N.S. The four-year-old is a homebred of the Polley family, sired by their own Rockin In Heaven out of Brookdale Gia. The pacer has amassed nine wins, six seconds and six thirds with $55,184 earned in 2024 splitting his time between the Ben Hollingsworth stable in Ontario then the Sizer operation in Summerside.
Sizer currently sits tied for second for training wins in 2024 at Red Shores Summerside along with Joe Baxter, with Kyle Williams holding a slim lead at 16 wins with just three programs left in the season.
The driver’s standings are a clean runaway for David Dowling, as the reinsman has 59 wins at the track ahead of Corey MacPherson in second place at 37 wins.
Dowling will drive post 2 starter Starshipzodiac for trainer Reece Williams in the Tuesday evening feature.
Bacononabiscuit has rail control in the field of five with Adam Merner training and driving the son of Tobago Cays after a second-place finish to Brookdale Johnny last week.
Howmac Maximus (To be driven by Damian MacLellan) holds down post 3 for trainer Tammy Collings while Sauble Attack (Ken Murphy) leaves from post 4 from the Paul Biggar stable.
The Backstretch Beat likes Bacononabiscuit.
“Bacononabiscuit fell short in his top class bid last week but we know he can turn it around and snag the lion’s share of this competitive top event.”
