Bucktober (Flanagan Memory), whose eight-race harness racing win streak was snapped when stepping up to the Preferred level last time, returned to victory lane as he won the Preferred Trot at The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Tuesday (Apr. 18).
Tyler Borth tucked the gelding away third while Power And Grace (Brett MacDonald) headed the group to the quarter in :28. Bucktober was gapped on the pylons to the half in :58.2 but reeled in the top three nearing three-quarters in 1:27.3.
Bucktober carried his momentum into a three-wide move as they straightened for home, and the gelding rocketed down the lane past all three leaders to win the feature in a career-best 1:58.2.
Power And Grace proved second-best. Sicario (Jason Ryan) finished third.
