Camara Moment (Control The Moment) scored a repeat harness racing victory in the second leg of the Snowshoe Series in -20°C weather on Friday (Feb. 3) at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
The gelding, driven by Doug McNair, made two moves to control the race – an early push to make the top early and a give-and-go to take back over from Emmetts Buddy (Louis-Philippe Roy). Camara Moment expanded his cushion on the last turn and entered the stretch with a big lead, which he converted to a two-and-three-quarter-length victory in 1:53. Ontop Rainman (Mike Whelan) soared late for place. Emmetts Buddy re-rallied for third after treading water in mid-stretch.
CAMARA MOMENT REPLAY
Camara Moment, a four-year-old, has now won three straight, including both of his preliminary Snowshoe Series leg races. The gelding has won eight of his 18 tries and earned $99.960. Richard Moreau trains the four-year-old for the ownership group of Mickey Sudar of Hagersville, Brenton Harris of Newcastle, and James Borke of Old Bridge.
The Snowshoe Pacing Series, for three- and four-year-old colts and geldings, will reach its conclusion on Friday, Feb. 10 at Woodbine Mohawk Park. The track’s next card is set for Saturday, Feb. 4 with a 7:00 p.m. EST first post.
