Capteur De Reve (Muscle Mass), making the trek from Hippodrome Trois-Rivières, defeated the dominant Black Tie Bash and Ripped And Ready in the harness racing Preferred Handicap at Rideau Carleton Raceway on Thursday (Sep. 1).
The gelding hustled away from post seven for Guy Gagnon and cruised at top speed to take the lead in a :27.3 first panel. He carved out a :57.2 half-mile time and travelled to three-quarters in 1:25.3 while facing pressure from Holdin Aces (Samuel Fillion).
Capteur De Reve sprung free by three lengths entering the stretch and held off the late-closing Black Tie Bash (Robert Shepherd) to score in 1:55.2.
Black Tie Bash was a length short at the finish. Holdin Aces was third.
