A severe thunderstorm brought an end to the harness racing card at Century Downs after five races on Friday (Jul. 29).
Driver J. Brandon Campbell was on a roll before the early conclusion. He won three of the five contested races, steering Chaste Forever (Mystery Chase, 1:54.2), Jedi Tricks (Wink N Atcha, 1:57.4), and Wink N Win (Wink N Atcha, 1:57.3) to victories.
Alberta Sires Stakes champion Divine Art (Outrageous Art) won her first race back after a short break that followed her Alberta Diamond triumph. She took the second race for trainer/driver Nathan Sobey in 1:54.2 to boost her career record to seven-for-13 and lift her earnings to $114,917.
Century Downs resumes racing on Saturday, Jul. 30 with eliminations for the ASHA Filly Pace and Century Casinos Pace. Alberta-foaled two-year-olds will contest two elim divisions of each stake, with fillies in the former and colts and geldings in the latter.
