Harness racing at Century Downs today has been cancelled due to the health risks of severe smoky conditions.
Forest fires have been plaguing the northern part of Alberta and British Columbia, which has resulted in air quality that has posed health concerns for the horses, drivers, and fans.
The ABSS Diamond and the ABSS Marksman eliminations have been rescheduled for next Saturday (May 27). The finals will now be run on June 3. There were supposed to be three heats for the ABSS Diamond and four for the ABSS Marksman.
Racing will resume at Century Downs on Friday, May 26, at 5:15 p.m. MDT. The Saturday card will follow that at 1:15 p.m. MDT.
