Century Downs has announced a new themed event to get the younger crowd to the harness racing track.
Student Night at the Track will occur May 12th, 19th and 26th at Century Downs. University students can purchase a ticket for $25, which entitles them to a hotdog or hamburger, fries, a soft drink, a program, and a $10 betting voucher.
Not only can students take in the races with a full stomach and a head start at the betting terminals, but they can also enter a contest for a chance at winning a $1500 scholarship and a new laptop.
Century Downsā on-air personality, James Jungquist, has been excited to announce this event for some time.
āWe need to start getting the younger crowd to come to the track,ā says Jungquist. āThere are so many gambling dollars to go around, and we need to show the young crowd that there is more than just gambling at a racetrack. We must show them itās an event and a night out to come to the track. Everybody always leaves here saying they had a great time, so we need to give them an excuse to come try it out the first time.ā
Century Downs will also host a Mental Health Day on May 27th and Women in Racing Day on July 22nd. Live racing at Century Downs goes Saturdays at 1:15 p.m. local time. Friday evening racing starts on April 28th, and the post time will be 5:15 p.m. local time.
