Century Mach (Jk Royal Flush) nabbed her second straight harness racing victory in the Fillies and Mares Open Pace at Century Downs on Thursday (Sep. 22).
Kelly Hoerdt, seeking a triple, tucked the mare into fourth position and remained in single-file formation through first-half splits of :26.3 and :56. He pulled the trigger when flushed out on the backstretch and immediately sent the mare three-wide around the pocket-popping Rollin Withholly A (Richard Lancaster) at three-quarters in 1:24.2.
Cenutry Mach, sporting a 1/5 billing, struck the front on the final turn and resisted Mystic Shadow (Brandon Watt) down the lane to secure a 1:53.2 victory.
The latter came within a half-length of the win. In High Cotton (Scott Knight) closed for third.
CENTURY MACH REPLAY
Hoerdt trains and owns Century Mach. The four-year-old has won 15 times and earned $83,583 in 46 starts.
The win completed Hoerdtās driving triple on the evening.
Fraser Downs will continue racing on Wednesday, Sep. 28 at 7:00 p.m. PDT.Ā The BC-bred Stake first leg for two-year-olds will highlight the program.
