Classy pacers clash in main event

CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – A competitive harness racing field of seasoned pacers will line up for Tuesday evening’s top event at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park, as Impeccable Shadow headlines the tenth race on the card.

The city oval has an 11-dash program set for a 6 P.M. start time.

The $4,300 Race 10 feature brings together a quality field of overnight pacers with Impeccable Shadow getting top billing for trainer-driver Paul Langille and owners Melissa Rennie and Dale & Ronnie Rennie Inc., of Alma. The Shadow Play five-year-old looking for his third win of the season and his 18th lifetime as he lines up from post 2.

Rose Run X Con has drawn post 4 for driver Brodie MacPhee and trainer Nicholas Oakes after a fourth-place finish at the Preferred 2 level last week while race timed in 1:53.

Gold Cup and Saucer consolation starter Saulsbrook Ian (To be driven by Ken Murphy) is a top selection from post 6 for trainer Jamie Smith.

Also in the field are Pauls Crown (Marc Campbell), The Sports Desk (Gilles Barrieau) and Sports Teller (Adam Merner).

Earlier on the program, Malignity is selected by The Post Time Picks in the back-up class in race 5.

The Langille-trained and -driven Malicious gelding has been a regular in upper-class company including an appearance in the Gold Cup and Saucer trials and gets rail control for this $3,650 contest. His top rivals include Dusty Lane Zoro (Don MacNeill) fresh off a 1:54.2 lifetime best score from post 3 and Maintenance Man (Merner) with post 4.
