A Sham Of Amber (Riverboat King) has hit a purple patch since Robert Coulter claimed her for $13,125 in March.
The 12-year-old has nine top three finishes in her past 10 starts and has earned a cheque for her owner/trainer each time.
Sheās been especially sharp in the past month. The mare vaulted from seventh to first in her Monday, May 23 outing at The Raceway at Western Fair District to extend her winning streak to three.
Off at 8/5 from post six, A Sham Of Amber dropped in sixth for driver Scott Coulter and joined the outside flow in the third-over position as they passed the stands. Coulter tipped her three-wide on the backside to circle stalling cover, and the mare launched past six of her rivals around the final turn to win comfortably in 1:57.1.
A SHAM OF AMBER REPLAY
She has earned $26,770 for Robert Coulter since his claim on Mar. 2. Her lifetime record is 54-for-304 with $429,760 in earnings.
Coulter has sent out eight winners this year from 32 starters.
The Raceway at Western Fair District continues weekday action on Tuesday, May 24 with a 10-race program beginning at 5:50 p.m. EDT.
