Harness racing driver Travis Cullen and trainer Jodie Cullen performed a mid-card hat trick with three consecutive winners at Georgian Downs on Tuesday (Aug. 2).
Momas Son Byrne (Sunshine Beach) won for the first time for the Cullens since moving into their care seven starts ago for owner A1 Stable. The four-year-old gelding wired his conditioned rivals in 1:53, a new career best. He is now seven-for-32 lifetime and has earned $58,225.
Yourtheone (Shanghai Phil) headed his rivals throughout as he cruised to a 1:52.4 victory. He is a homebred – Jodie Cullen bred the gelding and co-owns him with Travis Cullen and Ronald Cullen. He has won 12 times and earned $84,564 for them in 50 career starts.
Clever Character (Tellitlikeitis) notched his first tally since early May to complete the Cullen hat trick in the sixth race. He was clocked in 1:56.2. A1 Stable, Ronald Cullen, and Paul Sanders share ownership of the five-year-old gelding.
Georgian Downs resumes racing on Saturday, Aug. 6 at 7:15 p.m. EDT.
