Dabarndawgswatchin (Hes Watching) commanded the harness racing field in the $36,000 Fillies and Mares Preferred on Friday (Dec. 1) for her fifth win of the season over a wet track.
The top-level mainstay advanced uncovered around the first turn to take the lead after hitting the quarter in :26.4. That left So Much More (James MacDonald) in the pocket as Dabarndawgswatchin put up middle-half panels of :55.2 and 1:23 for Louis-Philippe Roy.
The leader entered the head of the stretch up by two and held that cushion over So Much More down the stretch. Huntress (Sylvain Filion) hit her stride in mid-stretch after a stalled first-over advance, but it came too late as Dabarndawgswatchin reached the finish up by a length-and-a-half in 1:51.
Huntress edged out So Much More for place.
DABARNDAWGSWATCHIN REPLAY

The card also saw a milestone for 12-year-old O Narutac Perfetto (Deweycheatumnhowe), who reached $700,000 in earnings in his 40th career victory. The gelding took his sixth of the season in 1:57.1 for trainer Dean Nixon and longtime owner Tony Basile. His bankroll now totals $701,758 in 281 starts.
