Shesasharpshooter (Huntsville) and Getting Euchred (All Bets Off) will carry perfection into the Blizzard Series final after both repeated in the second preliminary harness racing leg on Thursday (Feb. 2) at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
The former, a four-year-old mare, cruised to a two-and-a-half length victory on the lead in the first division with Steve Hudon aboard in 1:56.1. Ezbriesybeautiful (James MacDonald) finished second in her 2023 debut. She collared pocket-sitter Arizona (Travis Cullen) the line. Laura Toscani trains Shesasharpshooter, who is now perfect through three starts this year and four-for-23 lifetime, for Gino Toscani of Mount Hope. The mare has earned $50,151.

Getting Euchred (Doug McNair) rallied from third on the final turn and tracked down leader Chedda Chedda (Louis-Philippe Roy) to take the second split in 1:56.4. Nootka (Jody Jamieson) corrected a mid-stretch break and came on for second, missing by a neck. Chedda Chedda was a narrow third. It was Getting Euchred’s seventh victory in 10 career outings. The Brent Belore trainee has pulled in $36,662 for Ronald Thomson of Embro.

The $30,000A final of the Blizzard Series for three- and four-year-old pacing fillies and mares is set for Friday, Feb. 10.
The Snowshoe Series for males of the same pace and gait will continue during Mohawk’s next card on Friday, Feb. 3.
