Dellas Playboy wins Celtic Financial Series

Dellas Playboy (Ameripan Gigolo) avenged his elimination loss to Senior K in the Celtic Financial Series final on Saturday (Oct. 15) at Northside Downs.

Dellas Playboy pitched camp in fourth for the opening quarter of :30 but went on a first-over advance for Ardon Mofford going into the second turn. The stallion reached leader Senior K’s (Richie Baryluk) right flank as they crossed the halfway mark in 1:01.

The pair threw down on the backstretch and entered the stretch on level terms. Dellas Playboy pushed clear with a final surge nearing the line and took the victory by three-quarters of a length in a career-best 2:00.1.

Elm Grove Ocean (John Beaton) was five further lengths back in third.

DELLAS PLAYBOY REPLAY

Dellas Playboy has won eight of his 29 starts – all previously conditioned events – and has arned $7,507. Owner/breeder George Della Valle of Sydney trains the four-year-old.

Dontblvmejustwatch (Hes Watching, Randy Getto, 1:58.3) won the week’s Winners-Over event.

Northside Downs is set to race again on Saturday, Oct. 22.
